The Winklevoss brothers, Tyler and Cameron, were university classmates of Mark Zuckerberg at Harvard. They accused Zuckerberg of stealing their idea for Facebook and eventually settled their dispute with him for $65 million. They were then approached by a stranger at a party in Ibiza who offered to invest in cryptocurrencies. They decided to take the plunge and bought over $11 million worth of bitcoins. Their gamble paid off as in 6 years, the price of bitcoin increased nearly 700-fold to reach $7,000. They also founded their own company Gemini which announces a new revolution in digital art. However, in 2022, a US regulator accused Gemini of lying to them during the authorization process for a financial product based on bitcoin.
