Peter is right about the inflation tax. Almost all the people I know who's in California works multiple jobs to get by. Multiple people in one house hold even. I used to work as a union sheet metal worker. We made $46/hr. and many of my co workers had a 2nd job. Some were on government assistance. Union jobs pay a rate that supposedly keeps up with inflation
