In 2014 they passed Prop. 47. The law made some non-violent property crimes, where the value does not exceed $950, into misdemeanors. It also made some simple drug possession offenses into misdemeanors. It also provides that past convictions for these charges may be reduced to a misdemeanor by a court. Under Prop 47, you may qualify for a reduction from a felony to a misdemeanor for some of the following offenses: Before it passed I knew this would happen. Then they started letting all these folks out of jail. These are the crimes that came under that law….
Certain Forgeries, Commercial Burglary, Petty Theft with Priors, Bad Check, Grand Theft Crimes, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance. This was a backlash to the Three Strikes Law. There was a guy who stole a slice of pizza and got 30 years under Three Strikes. At the time the cops were out of control too. So we went from one extreme to another extreme. I hope one day we can get to middle ground and have some common sense laws. The reason they don't want employees to get involved is due to litigation. Let's say that employee gets killed in the process. His family will sue the company. Or let's say you kill the perpetrator. He is in a gang like the Gambino's. Then they kill a number of your employees.

Stippping a shoplifter and tisking your life is not helping someone. A corporation is not someone. Now if someone is getting jacked then you can be a decent human. Being a decent human would have to do with more finding out while so many are doing why they are doing to feed their kids. There will always be criminals but what's happening is beyond that, lets get to the source.
